Cops: Search on for hit-run driver in North Amityville pedestrian accident
Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and injured a pedestrian late Sunday in North Amityville.
Suffolk County police said the victim, identified only as a 24-year-old man, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with head lacerations.
His condition was unknown.
Police said the accident occurred near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Surrey Drive at 11:27 p.m. Police said the victim was crossing Jefferson when he was struck.
