Cops seek '65 Belvedere stolen in Riverhead
It is a classic car. And, police said, it was stolen Monday evening from a parking lot in Riverhead -- after being left locked, but unattended, for "a short period of time."
Now, Riverhead police said, investigators are trying to determine who stole the white, four-door 1965 Plymouth Belvedere from a downtown parking lot along the Peconic River sometime between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
Police are asking anyone with information about the theft -- or whereabouts of the car -- to call detectives at 631-727-4500.
All calls will remain confidential, police said.
