Police Monday said the victim in the hit-and-run was Diego Ajcuc Surdo, 30, of Chuarrancho, Guatemala.

In a news release, police said Surdo was walking north, in the roadway, on Flanders Road near the Suffolk County Credit Union when he apparently was struck by the vehicle.

"The Detective Division is requesting any information on this subject's last known address or any additional information to assist in notification of next of kin," police said in the release.
