A teen standing on a residential street in West Babylon was shot three times early Monday evening but is expected to live, Suffolk County police said.

The 18-year-old man from West Babylon suffered what police described as "non-life-threatening injuries" and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment.

Police said the teen was shot twice in the back and once in the left leg. A fourth bullet grazed his ear, police said.

The shooting occurred on Lodge Place just after 6:30 p.m., police said. Police said no one has been arrested and the investigation was continuing on Tuesday.

Police urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS or First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
