He stole a $3,500 gold and diamond necklace from a Commack store, Suffolk County police said.

Now police are asking the public's help in locating Robert Collins, 26, of Fort Salonga, who is suspected of the theft.

The man allegedly entered the employee access area of the jewelry counter at TJ Maxx at 6 p.m. Sept. 25 and helped himself to a Judith Ripka 18-karat gold necklace with diamonds. He then left the store without paying for the $3,500 necklace, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime or Collins' whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest, police said.
