Suffolk police detectives are hoping the public can help find a vehicle they believe was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a bicyclist on Sept. 6 in Brentwood.

Paz Espinal, 45, of Brentwood, was on a bicycle at 8:18 p.m., crossing Fifth Avenue just south of Dalton Road, when "he was struck by a white vehicle that was traveling southbound on Fifth Avenue," Suffolk police said in a news release. Espinal was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are hoping to find the vehicle involved in the crash. It is described as a 1994 to 1999 white Nissan Sentra with damage to the front of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
