The fatal hit-and-run occurred at about 7:30 p.m. as Marijan Crnkovic was attempting to cross Middle Country Road.

The accident was just east of Selden Court, police said.

The eastbound vehicle never stopped, police said, and Crnkovic was later pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the fatal hit-and-run to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.

All callers will remain anonymous and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest, police said.
