Police investigators want to talk to an older man they said mailed a "suspicious package" to a Suffolk County resident from the U.S. Post Office in Hempstead back in December.
The package was delivered to an East Patchogue man on Dec. 12, but Suffolk County police did not say what was in the package -- or what made them consider it to be suspicious.
Surveillance footage from the post office shows the man who sent that package. He is wearing a dark-colored baseball cap and a heavy winter coat with what police called "distinctive patches" on the sleeves and on the back.
He also wore bright-colored striped gloves.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
