Cops seek masked man who robbed Setauket bank
Suffolk County's Major Case Investigations Unit is looking for a masked man who robbed a Setauket bank Wednesday, police said.
A man entered the Chase bank at 1395 Rte. 25A at about 11:10 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash and indicating he was armed, detectives said.
The teller gave the man an unspecified amount of cash and the robber fled on foot, heading south through the bank's parking lot at the rear of the building.
The man is between 20 and 30 years old and was wearing a beige, hooded jacket -- with the hood over his head -- jeans and sneakers, police said.
He also covered his face with a red-and-green scarf and sunglasses and also wore black gloves.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477.
All calls will be kept confidential.
