Cops seek suspect in fatal hit-run in Brentwood
A man on his bicycle was struck and killed Monday night in Brentwood and police now are looking for the suspect who fled the scene, according to a report by Suffolk County police.
The accident occurred on Fifth Avenue near the corner of Dalton Road at 8:18 p.m., police said. Paz Espinal, 45, was crossing Fifth Avenue when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The car, which police said may have been a white Mitsubishi, did not stop. Suffolk police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
