Suffolk County police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a Holtsville woman in October as she was leaving her home for work.

Sixth Squad detectives said the woman was in her garage in a neighborhood near Waverly Avenue and Union Avenue on Oct. 26 at about 6:30 a.m. when she was attacked.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt and had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, police said. He also might have had scratches or redness on his face, near his right eye and cheek, police said.

Anyone with information can call Sixth Squad detectives, 631-854-8652, or Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
