A man walked into a TD Bank branch in Lake Ronkonkoma on Sunday, handed a teller a demand note "threatening violence," got cash and fled, Suffolk County police said.

Police are searching for the robber, who they described as 5-foot-8 with a medium build and in his early 40s.

He was wearing a dark fleece jacket, a dark scarf, a hooded sweatshirt, a dark baseball hat, sunglasses and dark gloves, according to police.

The incident occurred at the branch on Portion Road at 1:32 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
