Suffolk police are searching for a customer who stole more than $200 from a cash register at a Nesconset gas station in July, police said Tuesday.

Police released photographs of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras and said he had made several purchases from the station before stealing $220 on July 21.

The man entered a Gulf station at 762 Nesconset Hwy. about 6 a.m., removed the money and fled.

Police said the man is between 20 and 25 years old, 5-foot-8 with a thin build and was wearing a red polo shirt with black sorts, black sneakers and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
