Suffolk County police are looking for a man who robbed a Stony Brook sporting goods store Sunday night.

The man entered the Sports Authority store on Route 347 shortly after 9 p.m. and showed an employee a gun in his waistband, police said.

The robber forced the worker and the store manager into an office, where he had them empty the contents of a safe into a bag, police said. He then forced them to walk out of the store with him through a rear door, police said.

There were no reported injuries and the robber fled with an undetermined amount of money.

The robber was described as a man in his late 30s to early 40s with a medium build and a mustache.

Police asked anyone with information on the crime to call the Sixth Squad of the Suffolk County Police Department at 631-854-8652, or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
