Cops seek suspect in supermarket theft

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fifth Squad detectives are looking for a suspect who stole a wallet in December at an Oakdale supermarket and then used stolen debit and credit cards to make unauthorized purchases, police said Friday.
Police released photographs of the suspect, a man, Friday. The photos were taken from video surveillance at the Waldbaum's supermarket on the Sunrise Highway service road.
Police said the man took the wallet from a car parked in the store lot at about 4 p.m. on Dec. 21. Cards from the wallet later were used to make purchases at two separate locations, police said.
