Cops seek suspect in theft of car engine

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Second Precinct Crime Section are looking for a man who in January motored away from a Huntington repair shop with a car engine, police said.

Photographs of the suspect, taken from video surveillance cameras at Auto Tech at 116 Spring Rd., were released by police on Tuesday.

The suspect took the Subaru car engine and loaded it into his vehicle, possibly a white Toyota Matrix, at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan 19., police said.

Video from the surveillance cameras also showed the suspect's vehicle had Hello Kitty seat covers.
