One man handed the pharmacy manager a note announcing the robbery and stating he had a gun, police said, and a second man acted as a lookout.

They made off with cash from the CVS store on Fort Salonga Road in Northport, police said, but they were caught on surveillance footage.

Northport Village police on Tuesday released photos and videos of the pair, who they said netted about $3,200 in the robbery on Saturday. Police are hoping the surveillance footage will help catch the suspects.

The robbery took place at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Northport Lt. William Ricca said Tuesday.

"A male walks into the store, goes to the register, asks to see the manager," Ricca said. "When the manager comes, the male hands him a note, stating he has a gun and has people in the store with him."

Ricca said the suspect then demanded to be taken to the safe and that the store manager complied. Cash in hand, the suspect fled the scene -- but, Ricca said, was seen conversing with the second suspect as the two left the store.

Police said no gun was seen during the robbery.

They said the first man is believed to be in his 20s, about 5-foot-3, and heavy set and was wearing rectangular-frame glasses.

The second suspect, who police described as "a lookout," was slightly taller, maybe between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, with a medium build.

Both men wore hats.

Northport police ask anyone with information about the crime to call Det. Peter Hayes at 631-261-7500.
