Cops seek to confirm ID of man found dead in tent in East Patchogue

Suffolk County police and Crime Stoppers are trying to confirm the identity of a man found dead in a tent in a wooded area of East Patchogue last month.

The man's body was found in a beige Kelty tent in a wooded area northeast of Swan Lake Drive and Franklin Street on July 30, Homicide Squad detectives said in a Tuesday news release.

The man's death has been ruled noncriminal.

Police said he was about 5-foot-6 and between 45 and 60 years old, with a thin build.

The man was living in the location for at least a year and was frequently seen in the area riding a bicycle and often wore a red bandanna, police said.
