Cops seek to ID pedestrian killed in Copiague

Police are seeking the identity of a woman struck and killed by a car late Tuesday on Sunrise Highway in Copiague.
Suffolk County police said the victim, a black female believed to be in her 40s or 50s, died at the scene of the crash. The victim was hit as she crossed Sunrise at Albany Avenue at about 10:10 p.m.
Police said the driver, identified as Lisa Eskenazi, 33, of East Islip, was driving a 2011 Honda Odyssey eastbound on Sunrise when she struck the victim.
Eskenazi, who remained at the scene, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with minor injuries.
Her minivan was impounded for a safety check, police said. Eskenazi was not charged.
