Police are searching for two men who they said posed as officers to rob a 20-year-old Coram man Sunday night in Medford.

The incident was reported in a 911 call at 10:55 p.m., Suffolk police said.

The caller said two vehicles were blocking Country Road near Prager Court. The victim told police he was driving his 2005 Audi when a green Ford Explorer cut in front of him, forcing him to stop. He said his car was then struck from behind by another vehicle, possibly a white Lincoln Town Car, police said.

The man told police two men got out of the Explorer and approached his car. One, he said, displayed a silver badge -- the men telling him they were detectives.

Police said the victim then ordered the man from his vehicle, searched him and his car, asked "for drugs," took his cellphone, wallet and keys and fled.

The driver of the white car also fled the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
