Police are searching for a tall, thin man who wore a red-and-black ski jacket when he robbed a Chase bank branch Tuesday in West Babylon.

The suspect is believed to be at least 6-foot-5 -- and, maybe as tall as 6-foot-7 -- Suffolk County police said. Police said he is in his mid-20s.

The robbery at the bank on Montauk Highway took place at 4:10 p.m., police said. Police said the man entered the bank, approached a teller and handed that teller a demand note stating he had a gun. The teller then gave the man cash.

Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is being urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Police said all calls will remain confidential.
