Cops seek West Islip bank robber

Police are searching for a bank robber who held up a TD Bank branch on Montauk Highway in West Islip on Wednesday.
Suffolk County police said the incident occurred at noon.
They said the man entered the bank, showed one of the tellers a "demand note," was handed cash - and fled.
It was not clear how much money was stolen.
The man was described as being between 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-11, with a medium build and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and dark sneakers with white laces.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
