Police are trying to determine the identity of a female pedestrian who was struck by a car and killed Sunday evening on Yarnell Street near Wicks Road in Brentwood.

The accident involved a 1998 Nissan driven eastbound on Yarnell Street by Carmen Rodriguez, 24, of Brentwood.

Rodriguez was not injured in the crash and was not charged. The Nissan, however, was impounded for a routine safety check, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash — or, the identity of the victim — to call Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.
