A convicted sex offender was arrested early Wednesday in Holbrook after failing to report a change of residence, as required by state law, police said.

Robert Cesarski, 43, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. after a search warrant was executed at his home in the 300 block of Hauser Avenue, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

Cesarski, a Level 3 sex offender, was charged with an E felony, failure to report change of residence, police said. A Level 3 sex offender is required by state law to report a change of address within 10 days.

Detectives with the Suffolk police Special Victims Section initiated an investigation "following a tip received from Suffolk County Parents for Megan's Law," police said.

Online state records show Cesarski was sentenced to 6 years of probation after he was convicted of second-degree sexual abuse involving an underage person. The records show Cesarski was arrested in 2009, and that his primary residence was in St. James.
