A Shirley man was arrested on charges of having a fake North Carolina driver's license Tuesday after he tried to use the identification while paying a fine, State Police said.
Police said Jaime E. Guzman, 26, does not have a valid New York license. He went to the state Department of Motor Vehicles office in Riverhead to pay a $250 fine for a previous infraction, police said.
He was arrested after he attempted to use the forged North Carolina license for identification and employees determined the license was a fake, police said.
Arraignment details were not immediately available.
