Cops: Shot fired in Shirley home invasion
Police are investigating an armed home invasion in Shirley Monday during which a shot was fired.
A resident of the home was injured in the incident, Suffolk County police said. That resident was not injured by gunfire. Investigators said they believe the home was targeted.
The break-in occurred at about 3:25 a.m. on Waldorf Drive, police said. Two men, at least one of them armed, were then confronted inside the home by a resident, police said. During that confrontation, a shot was fired, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Police said the investigation was continuing.
