Cops: Sleeping drunken driver blocked McDonald's drive-through lane
Police responding to a 911 call reporting an erratic driver at a McDonald's in Hampton Bays found a 32-year-old man drunk and asleep at the wheel of his car, blocking the drive-through lane, authorities said.
Vicente Rojaz Moranchel, of Hampton Bays, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a field sobriety test, Southampton Town police said early Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 5:58 p.m.
Police said that responding officers found Moranchel asleep at the wheel of his car, which was parked on a curb blocking the drive through at 196 W. Montauk Hwy.
The 911 call had reported "a driver operating erratically and driving over curbs" in the fast food parking lot, police said.
The suspect's arraignment information was not immediately available.
