A cast member on Bravo's "Real Housewives of New York City" faces a driving while intoxicated charge following her arrest in Southampton Village on Memorial Day.
Police spotted Sonja T. Morgan, 46, of New York City running a stop sign while driving a 2006 BMW north on First Neck Lane at 2:16 a.m. Monday, village police said. She was arrested and charged with DWI, police said.
Det. Sgt. Herman Lamison of the Southampton Village police said "30 or 40 agencies" have called to verify Morgan's arrest. When asked if it was the same Sonja Morgan from the television show, Lamison said, "That's what everyone tells me. ... I don't watch the show."
Lamison said Morgan was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in village justice court on June 21.
Her arrest was first reported by News 12 Long Island.
Alana McElroy, a spokeswoman for the show, said in an email that NBC Universal does not "comment on the personal lives of our talent."
A person who answered a call to a number listed for Morgan in Manhattan said she was "not here" and hung up.
On her Facebook page, Morgan posted at 5:35 p.m. Monday that she was "Headed back from weekend with family. Hope u all had a great one. I am one exhausted mom."
According to her bio at the Bravo website, Morgan is "a fixture of New York City society, running in social circles that include European royalty and top-notch designers." She is described as a former model, a jet-setter and as having worked for "multiple restaurants across the city as a consultant and manager and often brought in her famous friends to spice up these locales."
The bio also says she is the single mother of a 9-year-old daughter.
