Cops: Southern driver faces drug charges
A Bay Shore man stopped Monday for an improper lane change on the Southern State Parkway in Farmingdale faces felony drug charges, State Police said.
At 11:45 p.m. police said Adnan Huzaifa, 28, of Bay Shore, moved unsafely from his lane driving east on the parkway near Exit 30, Broadway.
As he was being interviewed, Huzaifa had a strong odor of marijuana, and he admitted to smoking marijuana in his car earlier in the day, police said.
Police said the car was searched and plastic bags containing a gram of cocaine, four grams of marijuana and a glass marijuana smoking pipe were found.
Huzaifa was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, unlawful possession of marijuana and several traffic violations, police said.
Arraignment information at First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
