Cops: Southold man charged with illegal Vicodin possession

A 22-year-old Southold man was charged early Thursday with illegal possession of the painkiller Vicodin, Southold Town police said.

Police said an investigation on Pike Street in Mattituck led them to arrest Michael Lafreniere, 22, of 910 Tuthill Rd. He had 29 Vicodin pills in an improperly marked container, police said.

Lafreniere was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, arraigned and released on bail, police said.
