A West Babylon man faces a drunken driving charge after his SUV was detected speeding and illegally weaving in and out of traffic Friday night on the Southern State Parkway, police said.

Christopher Catalano, 26, of 1246 7th St., was driving eastbound on the Southern State near Exit 23, Meadowbrook Road, at about 10:45 p.m. when he passed a trooper at 68 mph in his black Lincoln Navigator, moving in and out of lanes and narrowly missing other vehicles, police said.

When he was pulled over, police said they detected an odor of alcohol. Catalano provided a breath-analyzer sample of .12 percent, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and several vehicle and traffic violations. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead and is scheduled to return to court on April 28.
