A Suffolk County police car came to a stop in brush after it was struck by a Toyota Corolla making a U-turn at the end of the Northern State Parkway in Hauppauge about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, police said. Credit: Stringer News Service

A motorist making a U-turn near the end of the Northern State Parkway in Hauppauge struck a marked Suffolk police car Saturday night, Suffolk County police reported.

A Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway made the turn just east of the end of Northern State Parkway and struck the police car that was also traveling eastbound at about 9:15 p.m.

The officer was taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

The occupants of the Toyota refused medical attention. No summonses were issued.
