Drunken driving arrests on Super Bowl Sunday this year went up in Suffolk County but dropped slightly in Nassau, police said Monday.

On Super Bowl Sunday last year, Suffolk made eight DWI arrests. In 2008, the last time the Giants played in the Super Bowl, Suffolk reported 14 DWI arrests.

In Nassau, 10 DWI arrests were made from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday, a spokeswoman said.

Last year on Super Bowl Sunday, Nassau police made 13 DWI arrests; in 2008, there were 11 DWI arrests.

The spokeswoman said there was no indication whether any of this year's arrests were related to Super Bowl celebrations or parties.

A spokesman for the State Police said troopers made one arrest Sunday, on the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore.
