Teen on dirt bike seriously injured in Deer Park, cops say

A teenager riding a dirt bike was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries and a broken leg after being struck by a pickup truck Wednesday in Deer Park, Suffolk police said.
The Dodge Ram driver, 54, stayed at the scene after the collision with the victim, 16, at about 1:20 p.m. on Church Street by Half Hollow Road, police said.
The teenager’s injuries were not life threatening, police said.
No charges were filed, police said.
Other details, including what caused the crash, were not immediately available, police said.
