Cops: Teen pulls knife on gas attendant
A Stony Brook teenager who waited in line for gasoline Monday at an East Setauket station pulled a knife on an attendant after getting angry because high-octane fuel was not available, Suffolk County police said.
Jared Giacolone, 17, faces charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was arrested Monday. Police did not make his arraignment information immediately available.
Giacolone wanted premium-grade gas for his Subaru when he pulled to into the BP station at 728 Route 25A at about 8:30 a.m., police said.
When an attendant told him that the station was out of premium, Giacolone got into an altercation with the employee. After the employee told him to leave, Giacolone, of 3 Woodfield Rd., pulled out a folding knife and threatened him, police said.
