A North Babylon man was stabbed in the back Thursday in West Babylon, police said.

The victim, 18, got into a dispute with another man in front of a row of stores on Belmont Avenue, near Wyandanch Avenue, just before 3 p.m., police said.

The victim's injury was not life threatening, police said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said.

Police are looking for his assailant, and details were not immediately available from detectives, who were out on the case late Thursday night.
