Two 16-year-old boys were arrested in Hampton Bays Sunday evening after one was found to be in possession of marijuana and the second, apparently upset his friend was being arrested, shattered the front window of a local store with his fist, police said.

The incidents occurred on West Montauk Highway at 7:27 p.m., Southampton Town police said.

Police said they stopped Darren J. Rountree and Diego Moncada, and found Rountree in possession of marijuana. But when officers arrested Rountree, police said an upset Moncada punched the window of a local business, shattering it.

Rountree was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana while Moncada was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Both were released on appearance tickets, pending arraignment at a later date.
