Two teens were arrested Sunday night after Suffolk Police said they tried to steal copper piping from a boarded-up Nesconset home.

Patrick Falk, 17, of Smithtown, and a 16-year-old were arrested and charged with felony third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools, a misdemeanor. Both were arraigned Monday at Central Islip Criminal Court. The 16-year-old, from St. James, is not being named because the court has not decided whether he will be charged as a juvenile or an adult.

Police say the pair broke into and stole copper piping from the home. The teens were found with various tools often used in burglaries, including a crowbar and sledgehammer, according to prosecutors at the arraignment. Both suspects were released on their own recognizance.

According to the district attorney's office, Falk was previously charged with arson for setting fire to a Dumpster in St. James on June 24, and for criminal mischief for damaging a car and puncturing the tires on May 11.
