Cops: Trio charged with DWI on New Year's
Southampton Town police arrested three drivers in a little more than an hour on New Year's Day morning on drunken driving charges, according to a department release.
The three arrests included:
Fernando Quistan, 21, of Riverhead, who allegedly tailgated and wove in and out of traffic on Old Quogue Road in Riverside in a 1994 green Honda at 12:59 a.m. Police said he was found to be intoxicated and submitted to a breath-analyzer test. He was released on $250 bail.
Tina Nash, 39, of Riverhead, who allegedly did not have proper headlights. She was stopped at 1:41 a.m. on County Road 105 and found to be intoxicated, police said. Nash was taken to headquarters where she submitted to a breath-analyzer test and was held for arraignment. She is being held on $200 bail.
Jose Amaya, 30, of Hampton Bays, who allegedly made a wrong turn in a white 1994 Chevrolet on State Road 24 at about 2:08 a.m. Police said Amaya failed a breath-analyzer test and released on $200 bail.
In each case, police did not reveal the results of the breath-analyzer tests.
