A truck driver from Central Islip was arrested Thursday after driving with a revoked license and without an interlock device that was mandated following a drunken driving conviction, Suffolk County police said.

Santos Zavala, 48, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. at the park and ride on Wicks Road, Brentwood, during a commercial truck inspection, police said.

Zavala, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet dump truck registered to Syrbescapes Inc. in Nesconset, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a required interlock device, according to police. He was to be arraigned Friday in First District Court, Central Islip.

Zavala also was issued five equipment violation citations, and the truck was taken out of service, police said.

A Syrbescapes representative could not immediately be reached for comment.

He was convicted in September 2011 of driving while intoxicated and mandated to use an interlock device, which measures blood alcohol level, police said.
