Police were investigating a three-vehicle accident late Wednesday morning in East Hampton that left two of the drivers hospitalized in stable condition.
The accident occurred at 11:47 a.m. on Route 114, just north of Hardscrabble Close, East Hampton Town police said in a news release.
A 2008 Ford Explorer and a 2002 Subaru Forester collided while traveling north, "causing the Subaru to veer into the oncoming lane of travel" and hit a 2008 Chevrolet utility truck head on, police said.
The drivers of the Subaru and the utility truck were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, police said.
Police did not say whether the driver of the Explorer was injured in the crash.
Police said they were not identifying any of the drivers because the cause of the accident is under investigation.
Witnesses are urged to call police at 631-537-7575.
