Two men were killed in Centereach Saturday night when their car crashed into a tree, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the driver, 43, and his passenger, 45, were killed in a 1970 Chevrolet.

The pair died at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Police did not immediately release any other details about the accident.

The collision happened at about 7:55 p.m. on Bowdoin Road, just south of Nicholls Road/County Road 97. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
