Cops using CPR revive man in PJ Station
A 65-year-old man who suffered cardiac arrest in Port Jefferson Station on Sunday was revived by two police officers performing CPR, Suffolk police said.
A caller from the Echo Arms Adult Home called 911 at about 8:35 a.m. to report that the man had stopped breathing while he slept on a couch.
Officers Sal Dabbraccio and Greg Pranzo of the Sixth Precinct went to the facility, where they found the man in cardiac arrest.
Dabbraccio and Pranzo started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, working on the man for two to three minutes before paramedics from the Terryville Fire Department arrived.
The officers continued CPR along with the paramedics, until paramedics intubated him. The man, whose pulse was restored, was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson for further treatment.
