Suffolk County police are investigating a single-vehicle crash from early Saturday morning in Shoreham that left its lone occupant dead, officials said.

Kevin Callejas, 19, of Shoreham, was driving a 2005 Suzuki northbound on the William Floyd Parkway when it overturned and landed on its roof in a wooded area a half mile north of Whiskey Road at 5:45 a.m., a police spokeswoman said. A Suffolk County Police officer happened upon the vehicle after the crash.

Callejas died at the scene, a news release stated.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives ask anyone who may have witnesses the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
