Westbound Sunrise Highway in Bellport has reopened Tuesday afternoon after an accident involving a box truck operated by a driver with a suspended license, police said.

The accident, west of Exit 56, Station Road, was reported in a 911 call at 1:10 p.m., Suffolk County police said.

The unidentified driver of the truck, traveling in the left lane, “lost control on the slippery roadway and sideswiped a Chrysler Pacifica,” police said in a statement.

The truck overturned and wound up on the grassy center median. No one was injured in the accident, police said.

“The driver of the box truck was issued a summons for having a suspended license,” police said.

The truck was uprighted shortly before 3 p.m. and shortly before 4 p.m. the road reopened, police said.
