Cops: Wis. fugitive faces drug charge on LI
A man who gave police a fake name after being arrested Sunday night on a drug possession charge in Cutchogue turned out to be a fugitive from Wisconsin, police said.
Adam L. Flanigan, 27, faces charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, attempted escape, forgery, false personation and with being a fugitive from justice after his arrest just before 10 p.m. on Pequash Avenue, Southold Town police said. Police said Flanigan first identified himself as Christopher Oliver, but they said a fingerprint scan led to his identification as Adam L. Flanigan.
Police could not immediately say why Flanigan was being sought in Wisconsin.
Police said that Flanigan was arrested by officers responding to a 911 call reporting a suspect "rummaging through cars" on Pequash Avenue. He was in possession of marijuana, police said, had no identification -- and told officers his name was Christopher Oliver.
Arraignment details were not immediately available.
