A woman was grabbed from behind Saturday on a Patchogue street, dragged to a wooded area, robbed and sexually assaulted, police said Tuesday.

The 24-year-old woman was walking west on Main Street at 3:15 a.m., when she was forced to a grassy, wooded area between West and River avenues, police said.

The attack left her with numerous cuts and bruises, as well as a broken nose, police said.

She was treated and released from a hospital, Suffolk police said.

Police did not identify the woman.
