A West Babylon woman who was ejected from a vehicle in an alleged drunken-driving crash last week in Mastic has died from her injuries, Suffolk County police said Wednesday.

Jennifer Suydam, 27, was ejected while riding as a passenger in a pickup near the intersection of Carlton Avenue and Herkimer Street in Mastic.

The accident happened at about 7:50 p.m. June 24, when Shad Teter, 42, driving a Ford Focus, crashed with the 2000 Nissan pickup driven by Michael Facchiano, 29. Police arrested Teter, of 187 Carleton Dr. E., in Shirley, on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Teter, Facchiano and Suydam were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center.

Teter was arraigned last week in the hospital on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and operating an unregistered vehicle. He was ordered held on a bail of $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond, according to court records. He remained in the hospital Wednesday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

A funeral Mass for Suydam is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Friday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Farmingdale. Anyone with information on the crash can call Vehicular Crime Unit detectives at 631-852-6555. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
