Cops: Woman found hurt likely hit by a car
A woman found injured on the side of the road in North Bay Shore on Saturday was apparently struck by a vehicle, Suffolk County police said.
Authorities received a 911 call at 6:43 p.m. about the woman, who was found near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Walbridge Avenue, a police spokesman said.
The woman looked like she had been struck by a vehicle, police said, and suffered lacerations to her head. She was taken to Southside Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, police said.
