Cops: Woman killed in 3-car Farmingville crash
A 40-year-old Medford woman was killed early Saturday in a three-car crash in Farmingville, police said.
Jennifer Colon was pronounced dead at the scene after her 2002 Chevrolet was struck by a pickup that had been struck by another car.
The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. at Horseblock Road and Old Medford Avenue, police said.
Police said Joseph Pedro, 16, of Farmingville, was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup east on Horseblock Road when he was struck by Franklyn Martinez, 23, of Central Islip, who was driving a 1996 Toyota. Martinez was traveling north on Old Medford Avenue, police said. Colon had been traveling west on Horseblock Road when Pedro struck her vehicle.
Pedro and Martinez were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks, and police said the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking any witnesses to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
